Founded in April 2012, El Monte Gringo Ranch is on an environmental conservation easement, and is characterized by over 2,300 acres of virgin South Texas Brush.  The Ranch is a thriving habitat for native wildlife such as Whitetail Deer, Quail, White Wing, Morning Dove, Rio Grande Turkey, Bobcats, Javelinas, and Coyotes.

Located just north of McCook, Texas, El Monte Gringo Ranch is owned and operated by Shawn and Lori Gerlach.

As Texas’s premier destination for trophy whitetail deer hunting, our sprawling expanse of pristine hunting ground is the ideal spot for avid trophy hunters seeking the ultimate challenge. At El Monte Gringo Ranch, you’ll discover not just a hunting trip, but an unforgettable adventure steeped in the rugged tradition of Texas big-game hunting.

We are most well known for our trophy whitetail deer hunts, which are available from October to February. We are also proud to offer a variety of other guided hunting opportunities, including dove (September), Rio Grande turkey (March-April), and exotic animals (January – December). 

Whether you’re an avid hunter or just getting started, and whether you prefer a rifle or a bow, our knowledgeable hunting guides and outfitters will go above and beyond to make sure you have a successful and enjoyable hunting experience.  

Our lodging facilities have a conference room, a spacious dining area, 15 bedrooms, and a fully functional commercial kitchen. We can therefore readily provide overnight organization retreats at our location.
